From the preface of the LDS Hymnal:

Hymns can greatly benefit us as individuals. Hymns can lift our spirits, give us courage, and move us to righteous action. They can fill our souls with heavenly thoughts and bring us a spirit of peace… We encourage you to memorize your favorite hymns… Know that the song of the righteous is a prayer unto our Father in Heaven, “and it shall be answered with a blessing upon [your] heads.” — The First Presidency

Here’s what to do:

  1. Print out the lyrics
  2. Put them inside a sandwich baggie (with the seal/opening on the bottom)
  3. Get it wet
  4. Stick it to the shower wall

That way you can start the day with a song and prayer. And if you sing loud enough, the whole house will enjoy it. : )

(This is a cross-post of an article I wrote for MormonLifeHacker.com.)

(On a personal note, I just finished “In Remembrance of Thy Suffering” and now I’m starting “The Son of God,” which is a hymn the adventurers sing in the movie The Man Who Would Be King.)

If I don’t have photos of your favorite temple, post a comment below for the one you’d like to see on HelamanGallery.com.

I love to travel, and I think it would be great to photograph every temple in the world. But there are no guarantees I’ll get to your temple quickly. Of course, posting a comment here will help me move yours to the top of the priority list :-)

Webdesign is a lot of work, and I still haven’t even gotten airborne. But I’m getting closer.

Here’s a wallpaper of the site’s logo.

I’ve designed logos here and there, some for fun, some for pay. This is one of my favorite logos though. I feel like it really represents the tone I want the site and downloads to have. Let me know if you have suggestions about it in the comments.

This is a digital painting I created using Photoshop.

The painting is the Plan of Salvation. In it you’ll see representations of premortal life, birth, mortality, spirit paradise and spirit prison, judgement and resurrection, and the Celestial, Terrestrial, and Telestial kingdoms.

I designed a similar piece of art back before my mission. I was young and amateur with Photoshop. My old version was more of a chart. When I revisited it, I decided I wanted to make a version that was still a chart, but that was also artistically beautiful. I hope I’ve accomplished it.

Here’s the old version, just in case you’re curious. I believe it has some value as well:

Check back soon for a wallpaper version (of the new one) so you can put it on your desktop. Also, I hope to be making the print available to you soon as well. :-)
